Why Kathy's Music?

Our mission is to change the world through music, one student at a time.

We are committed to changing the world through music by providing excellent music education and experiences that:

  • Develop confidence
  • Invite collaboration
  • Create community

Students and parents feel valued as our teachers work to create customized instruction and personalized progression plans. That’s all part of our “one student at a time” focus.

Our Mission In Action

CONFIDENCE.
Repetition and performance opportunities are two strategies we utilize to help students develop confidence. Repetition leads to mastery. Mastery often leads to becoming a role model and leader, even as a toddler in Kindermusik! Likewise, every time a student shares their music or performs, they are developing stronger self-confidence.

COLLABORATION.
Our Winter Ensemble Concert features nearly 100 students working together in groups creating an amazing concert filled with ensembles, including our Music Artistry Orchestra, Flute Choir, Combined Studio Singers, Ukulele Choir, and Piano Ensemble. We bring students together who do not usually work together or even see each other. It’s community plus collaboration all rolled into one!

COMMUNITY.
Kindermusik with Grandfriends events bring generations together as we share music in a senior living center where residents are experiencing dementia. It’s joyful to see the faces of the seniors and the children as they make new connection created by making music together. All are welcome. Check our FB events page for updates.

BENEFITS OF KINDERMUSIK

Music contributes to a well-rounded education for learners of all ages by supporting learning across multiple domains:

Icon

Cognitive

Music gives the brain a workout through memory and recall, focusing, listening and interpreting, and problem solving. All of these are so important to keep young minds learning and adult minds guessing!

Icon

Math and Logic

There’s lots of math in music! From counting the beat to spatial awareness and reasoning, music enhances understanding and continuous use of foundational mathematic principles.

Icon

Social-Emotional

Music fosters emotional connections and exploration. Children in music classes develop a sense of community, and enhance their self-esteem by learning new skills. Adults can reap the same benefits as they learn and have fun doing it!

Icon

Literacy

Countless studies have shown that music positively impacts skills that are vital to reading and language learning.

Icon

Physical

Everybody loves to move to the music! Movement and exercise builds fine- and gross-motor skills in children, and primes the adult brain for continued learning.

Icon

Creative

No matter how old or young, music provides every learner with the creative outlet they need. Children interact with instruments, learn how to make new sounds, and express themselves through song and dance. Adults discover the magic of their chosen instrument through practice and performance.
