Ulises is originally from the Idaho Falls area in southeast Idaho. He earned his bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from Idaho State University and his master’s degree in trumpet performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
During his time at Idaho State, he was the section leader for the wind ensemble, jazz band, marching band, and performed with a variety of musicals. In 2011 and 2013, Ulises was the featured soloist with the Symphonic Band. He served as second/assistant principal trumpet in the Idaho State Civic Symphony; an orchestra whose members consist of professional musicians, students, and community members. While at Idaho University, he performed with numerous bands, orchestras, and chamber groups. He has also performed with the Magic Valley Symphony.
Besides playing trumpet, Ulises enjoys playing drums and has recently started arranging, recording, and producing original music. He plans on starting his own recording studio in the near future.
