Musical Parenting Tip:
Connect with and learn from your child using music!
Connect with and learn from your child using music!
Why?
- Turning the tables and letting your
child lead is delightful for them! When
you copy them, you validate them. They
feel proud to be who they are. - Activities that allow you child to
experiment with varying levels of support
from you show them how much they really are capable of doing things by
themselves. - Your
child is learning about who they are through the relationship they share with
you. Physical affection is an important part of developing a healthy
self-concept.
How?
- Give your child a big hug, and let him
feel like he’s the center of your universe for the next few moments. - Find out about your child’s favorite things!
- Cue up ‘Golden Ring,’ from the
Marvelous Me album. Hold your arms
around your child during the ‘golden ring around the Susan girl’ part, and have
them walk around you, in a circle, during the ‘round & around’ part. - Turn on your favorite rocking song, and
enjoy some cuddle & rocking time. - Sing the e-book ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees &
Toes’
with your child. What other verses can
you create? Does your child have an
idea?
