We are pleased to have David Dockan teaching for our studio during the summer of 2015.  David will be teaching trumpet, trombone, and french horn as well as directing our “African Drum Ensemble” camps.

David Dockan is a Senior Music Education Major at West Virginia University and has expansive performing experience, including principal trumpet at the Collegiate Orchestra Directors Association in Dallas, Texas.  David is currently the principal trumpet of the WVU Wind Symphony and led his section with a performance at the Percy Grainger Festival in Chicago, Illinois. David is well versed in classical and world music as evident in his participation with the WVU Brazilian Ensemble and the African Drum and Dance Ensemble. His resume also includes training in world music education and ethnomusicology. 
David’s teaching experiences include music and marching instruction for the Upper St. Clair Marching Band, as well as teaching at South Middle and SkyView Elementary Schools, both located in Morgantown, WV. He has also lead various collegiate ensembles while completing his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University.
