We are pleased to have Alec Chapman teaching for our studio program in Mt. Lebanon.
Alec Chapman is a graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in piano performance. Beginning in August, he will be pursuing his Master’s Degree in Collaborative Piano at Carnegie Mellon University. He is trained in classical piano,
accompanying, jazz piano, and organ. A native of Pittsburgh, Alec attended CAPA
High School where he began his formal piano studies.

At Duquesne University, he
has studied piano with Natasha Snitkovsky, accompanying with Ken Burky and
Benjamin Binder, jazz piano with Ron Bickel, and jazz arranging and
improvisation with Mike Tomaro and Sean Jones. Alec was awarded the Annual Pittsburgh
Jazz Society Scholarship Award in 2012 and was a finalist in the 2014 Women’s
Advisory Board Competition, Tuesday Musical Club Competition, and WVU Jazz
PIano Competition. He performs frequently as an accompanist and organist and
has developed a wide variety of skills in many different musical genres.
