Ella is a board-certified music therapist with experiences working with children and adults in medical settings. She received her bachelor’s in music therapy and a minor in dance from Slippery Rock University, where she studied violin with Dr. Warren Davidson. She has performed with local symphonies as a section violinist and enjoys playing worship music at her church and chamber music with friends. Violin and guitar are her favorite instruments, and the string family has a special place in her heart!
She completed her music therapy internship at Western Psychiatric Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and has additional music therapy experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities in long-term care. As a lesson teacher, she is warm, encouraging, and able to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs. She is a currently a counseling psychology graduate student at Chatham University and hopes to one day work as a counselor who incorporates music therapy techniques. Ella believes music has power in wellness and healthy child development, and she has found her training as a Kindermusik educator so joyful! In her spare time, Ella likes reading, songwriting, eating chocolate and taking naps!
