Lydia began playing piano lessons at the age of 5, and it has been a central part of her life ever since. Throughout grade school she actively performed and competed in state competitions and as a high school student made her orchestral debut performing the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. In 2012 she graduated with a B.M. in Piano Performance from Florida State University. She has attended numerous music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, and is an active accompanist.
Although her first love was performing, Lydia has become equally passionate about teaching. From 2014-2016 she served with the Peace Corps in Thailand, where she taught English in two different schools and led various teacher trainings. Since then, she has completed her yoga teacher training and now teaches yoga as well. Currently, she is a pursuing a Master in Arts Management degree at Carnegie Mellon University.
