Meet Morgan Klauscher

Morgan Klauscher is no stranger to the world of music education, but she’s new to Pittsburgh! Morgan began studying music in grade school: piano in 3rd grade and flute in 5th. She is from Chillicothe, Ohio and joined marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, chamber ensembles, and musicals both in the pit and on stage during her high school career. Since then, Morgan has earned degrees in Music Education (BM) from Marietta College and Flute Performance (MM) from Youngstown State University. Morgan was a part of many ensembles during her studies including Flute Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, Woodwind Quartet, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Saxophone Quartet, Treble Choir. Morgan has been a flute clinician at several high schools in her hometown and has performed in masterclasses for Lorna McGhee (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra), Lisa Jelle (Capital University), Wendell Dobbs (Marshall University), and Anna Reitsma (DMA Candidate, West Virginia University). Additionally, Morgan has taught at over 20 band camps since 2014!
Prior to moving to Pittsburgh, Morgan taught General Music, Choir, and was an Assistant Band Director in public schools. She also coached the flute section members of the Youngstown State University Youth Orchestra during her graduate studies. Her flute students have successfully auditioned into numerous universities and have been awarded music talent scholarships. Morgan is a big proponent of mindful playing, knows how to navigate performance anxiety, and loves to help her students make music in every moment.
Morgan currently lives in the Dormont area with her husband, Max, and their two cats. She works at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank as part of the Volunteer Engagement team. One of her favorite musical memories is performing “Epitaphe de Jean Harlow” (flute, sax, piano) with her now-husband at his graduate saxophone recital.
