Zachary Thal began playing guitar in Pittsburgh at the age of nine. Falling in love with music, he went on to study Jazz Guitar at Duquesne University where he graduated in the Spring of 2022 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Technology. While there, he studied under the direction of Mark Koch and Eric Susoeff, furthering his knowledge of the guitar and music. Under the guidance of his professors, Zach discovered his love of teaching both guitar and audio engineering and has taught both for the past three years.
Following his undergrad, Zach started his own recording and mixing company, Royal Mantis Studios. Since then, he has worked with large bands, choirs, solo artists and more to complete their projects. Whether it be engineering an album, single, live performance, or even a podcast, Zach aspires to help musicians reach their professional and life goals. Zach’s passion for engineering and teaching has helped his young career blossom.
