Kindermusik Fall enrollment opens in May for our VIP families (currently enrolled families). Your child is important to us! We are already planning for their future music education as a “Musical Superhero” in Level 3 or as a member of the Kindermusik Orchestra in Level 4/5 because we KNOW and CARE about them as unique little people.

Is there anything different about the next level of Kindermusik?

Can my child stay with the same teacher?
The answer is almost always yes! See the schedule to find your teacher’s class day & times for the level you are moving to in the fall.
What if my child’s birthday is this fall?
If your child’s birthday is this fall and turning 1, 2, or 3 consider keeping your child in the same level this fall. We can start planning now to promote up in January. There’s no need to rush and the curricula is written with this kind of planning in mind. Our teachers will prepare the lesson to meet the needs of each class as well as the individual needs of each child.
What if my child will be 5 by December 31st?
We are already planning for their music education as part of our “Kindermusik Orchestra” in Level 4, where they will begin to read and write music and play the glockenspiel. Choose Kindermusik for your child and create a musical foundation that prepares them for lessons, as well as group music making in school.
What happens if my child is not ready to move up to the next level? Is it OK to repeat?
YES! The children in our program who repeat a level are THE luckiest children we serve. Repetition produces mastery. Mastery produces confidence and greater understanding. (It’s like reviewing math facts.) We want to see each child thrive. By staying in the same level this fall, your child becomes a leader in class and would then promote up in January to the next level. In fact, we can start planning for that now. Parents tell us it’s one of the best choices they’ve made.
My child is in Level 2 now. Do I promote up this fall or wait?
We can help! Repetition is a good thing. We’ve found that children thrive when they have the opportunity to become a role model in Level 2 before moving up to Level 3. We are in no rush to promote your child to Level 3 before they are 3-3.5 years of age. Every child’s time table is different and we meet them where they are! Children who can consistently work independently without a parent, sit and attend, follow simple directions, take turns, and use their words in class are ready for level 3.
What if I don’t get my first choice? How will I know what class my child is in?
If your first choice is not available, we will place your child in the second choice class and send you an email right away.
Can I enroll a sibling that is not currently enrolled?
Yes, our current Kindermusik families are welcome to enroll siblings during VIP Enrollment. Please let us know during that limited time so that we can secure you a space. Many concurrent class times are available to make it easier than ever to choose Kindermusik for your children.
When does enrollment open to new families?
We will open up the Online Enrollment for fall at www.KathysMusic.com to new families on May 25th. Just a reminder that VIP Enrollment is not available on our website. Use the google form we sent via email for VIP enrollment in early May.
When is my first payment for Fall?
Registration Fee of $45 runs on August 1st.
First Payment for School year is run on September 1st.
What is the tuition for 2021-2022 school year (Sept to May)?
Kindermusik Levels 1-3: $70/month for weekly 45 minute classes
Kindermusik Levels 4-5: $80/month for weekly 1 hour classes
Piano Corner Ages 4-5 Years: $80/month for weekly 45 minute classes (class size 3-5 students)
What is included with my enrollment?
A personal instrument kit customized to your child’s age and class level
New music during the school year – typically 8 albums – all available online for streaming or via the Kindermusik App available for smart phones
Unlimited makeups as long as you are enrolled
Seasonal special events for fall, winter, St. Patrick’s Day, etc.
Kindermusik Young Child classes include additional materials (games bag, binder with activities, Year 1: Glockenspiel, Year 2: Dulcimer and Recorder).
Will we be restricted to “boxes” in our studio classrooms next fall?
Starting this summer, we will be moving to an age-appropriate experience that invites/allows for more movement around the room. The research is clear. We know that “movement is the key to learning” (per Carla Hannaford and her book, Smart Moves) and that as we move our brains are developing as well as our bodies. We will still have the ability for each family to have a “home base” that feels safe, while the classroom setup and design will not be or feel as restrictive. Safety will always be our #1 priority, so our goal is find the right balance for you and your child. As restrictions are lifted and the CDC recommendations are updated, we will adjust accordingly in a timely manner.
Will masks be required this fall for children and adults?
The requirement for masks comes from the Governor’s mandate. We look forward to the day when masks are no longer required for ages 2 and up. As restrictions are lifted and the CDC recommendations are updated, we will adjust accordingly in a timely manner.
