In the Kindermusik community, we like to say that we are “better together,” because, quite frankly, we are. When you enrolled in our program, you joined more than 1 million families in over 70 countries. We truly are one large, boisterous musical family known to burst into song and dance (and elephant trumpeting, toast popping, or hayride riding)! And although Kindermusik classes around the world use the same curricula, every class experience looks a little bit different because each child, each parent, each family, and each educator brings to the class a distinct personality and way of learning (or teaching!).
So, what’s the “right” way to do Kindermusik?
The “right” way to do Kindermusik is exactly the way your child does it. Over the past several weeks, we’ve fallen in love with what makes your child, well, your child. No other child experiences Kindermusik in quite the same way. Each week in class our goal is not to lead your child to conform or perform, but rather to engage your little one in developmentally appropriate activities in a way that uniquely suits how your child learns and supports growth.
The goal is not to conform or perform, but to engage.
From our perspective, we know it’s not necessarily what your child may “do” in class but what your child “takes away” from class, which is why we give you the tools to “play” Kindermusik together at home where your child is most comfortable. In fact, you may notice that your child participates in Kindermusik differently at home-or on the go-as you actively engage in the songs, books, and activities together. It’s all part of the learning process-and the memory making!
It takes 5-6 weeks to transition.
The first five to six weeks of class help your child understand the routines and rituals of class, learn some of the songs and activities, and make emotional connections to new friends.
Oh, and by the way, the “right” way for you to do Kindermusik is also exactly the way you do it!
