Today at cooking camp we sang and played music from England, especially a variety of Nursery Rhymes.
We decorated our Restaurant Take out bags and added new recipes to our book.
We divided up into 2 groups and each group made a batch of Chocolate chip scones, which we later enjoyed eating (plus we sent some home). Did any of our parents get to try them out??
During music time, we learned about eighth notes. Ask your child to share our chant about “pizza, pickle, pumpernickel.”
While our scones were baking, we made a sample table decoration for the holidays. It was a turkey gobbler made of apples, fruit loops, marshmallows, and toothpicks. Check out our group photo where everyone is holding their table decoration.
At the end of the day, we held a “tiny party” with scones (that the children made), strawberries, and cheese.
I am so proud of the turn taking and developing social skills that we are observing each day with the children. They are polite and considerate of others, whether we are sharing art supplies, doing food preparation, or waiting for a turn to help with baking scones. All of our Kindermusik classes offer opportunities for social development in a nurturing environment with Licensed Educators who are committed to engaging children with a variety of learning styles.

Tomorrow we are making chocolate desserts and exploring music from France and the French Quarter in New Orleans.
