Preschoolers are ready to learn so much. Which is great news, because there’s so much to teach them!
At Kathy’s Music, we use this formative age to begin transitioning students from “musical children” to “young musicians.” Preschoolers are naturally ready to form new friendships and learn new concepts. And of course, they’re always ready to sing and dance! It’s the perfect time to join us for Level 3 (formerly known as Laugh & Learn)!
In Kindermusik classes for preschoolers at Kathy’s Music, students study music on musical terms. They begin to explore abstract musical concepts that develop broader thinking skills, expressive speaking, and foster creative expression.
We like to call it a “pre-orchestra” class. You will see their minds buzzing with new creative thoughts. We will ask for their favorite ideas and then use them to teach new musical terms, songs for singing, and ensembles for multiple instruments. They will dance enthusiastically like submarines or glide like horses while we use the pretend play to teach turn taking, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility. The best part? Those looks of anticipation turn into self-confident smiles. They will make new friends and develop independence and your celebrating because not only are they learning music, but they are preparing for school as well.
